Bishop Sullivan received the following information from Bishop Naumann, Chairman of the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities:
I invite your diocese to join Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians nationwide in Pray for Dobbs, a united effort of prayer and fasting leading up to the U.S. Supreme Court case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The case addresses the constitutionality of a 15-week abortion ban passed into law in Mississippi, and it is our most significant chance in a generation to overturn Roe v. Wade.
An historic online prayer gathering will kick off the campaign on Thursday, November 18 at 8:00 PM (EST). National faith leaders will lead participants in prayer for a just outcome to the
case that would help protect millions of pre-born babies and their mothers.
Please visit www.prayfordobbs.com to register for the online prayer event. Resources are available in English and Spanish on the same website to promote the event, as well as to use throughout the campaign until the decision is handed down (likely in June 2022). These resources include clips of an informational webinar, sample announcements, graphics, flyers, and action ideas. Sample social media posts are available here.
Thank you for your care of those who are most vulnerable and for your defense of human life.
